Lithium traction battery solutions
PowerTech Systems is specialized in Lithium-ion battery for traction pack. Latest Lithium technology can advantageously replace lead acid batteries ( see comparative characteristics of Lead-acid and Lithium-Ion ). lightweight packs, combined with small bulk and long service life, make Lithium technology the way forward for traction applications.
We select and qualify the best products to design and implement reliable, powerful and safe solutions.

We offer three types of battery technologies for traction systems : Lithium Iron Phosphate (LiFePO4), Lithium Manganese Oxide (LMO) and Lithium Manganese Cobalt (NMC). For some specific projects, we can offer Lithium Titanate batteries (LTO).
Each technology addresses some specific feature (available energy, charge and discharge capacity, number of cycles, etc..) in order to meet clients specifications.
Personal mobility :
Personal vehicles are equipped with small capacity batteries (5KW max) and voltages up to 48V. The batteries must withstand deep cycles and be recharged quickly.

Lithium-ion batteries allow a substantial gain in autonomy and weight compared to lead acid batteries for the propulsion of electric vehicles. Lithium Iron Phosphate (LiFePO4) and lithium titanate (LTO) technologies are commonly used for electric utility vehicles.

Lithium batteries allows for greater autonomy of industrial equipment as well as a substantial productivity gain. For the same bulk of battery, embedded lithium-ion energy solutions can in some case triple autonomy compared to conventional technologies.

High energy density battery packs design requires the use of small cells flexible envelope. We mainly use NMC cells (Lithium Nickel Manganese Cobalt) for their exceptional weight / power ratio.
The design is made to minimize the weight of the onboard battery. Pack can be designed in several separate components to ensure balance in the avionics unit.

Marine electric propulsion gains momentum. We design banks of batteries for marine propulsion. The use of cell Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) is recommended for this type of applications.
